This fourth edition of our Meeting on Cell Proliferation and Cancer seeks to promote the external collaborations of researchers working in cancer research in the Balearic Islands. In such a competitive field, and taking into consideration the low critical mass of researchers working in this field in the Balearics, it is essential to regularly hold meetings to interact with other scientists in order to establish collaborative projects. Furthermore, this meeting will also provide updated information to both clinicians and biologists interested in the molecular basis of cancer. The meeting will therefore help to establish an international networking platform for cancer researchers. This fourth edition will cover basic aspects of cancer research, such as the regulation of cell proliferation, cell motility and tumour suppressors and more translational aspects including anti-angiogenic agents and new therapeutic strategies in different tumour settings. In this edition the meeting continues building on its international profile with half of the invited speakers working in overseas institutions.
Objectives
-To promote the exchange of ideas and the establishment of new collaborative projects between researchers from the Balearic Islands and the invited scientists.
-To deliver updated information to researchers, clinicians and biologists interested in cutting-edge cancer research.
